Aurier's strike five minutes before the break gives Spurs the lead in what has been a real battle between the two sides. Tranmere were slow out of the blocks and both Son and Lucas should have opened the scoring. In the end it was Aurier's deflected effort that broke the deadlock and Tranmere now have work to do in the second 45 minutes.
Monthe's header has been Tranmere's best effort so far but the gulf in class has told with Spurs defending with real confidence. Changes could give Tranmere half a chance but it is Spurs who will be expected to kick on.
Spurs produce a dominate performance at Prenton Park to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Tranmere dug in and showed plenty of heart until Aurier opened the scoring in the 40th minute when his shot was deflected past Davies before Spurs turned on the screw in the second half. Llorente doubled the advantage afrer three minutes, before Aurier then grabbed his second after he finished a fine move which was created by Son. The South Korean then got a goal of his own to add to his two assists, before Llorente secured a brace after a neat ball from Skipp. The Spaniard grabbed his hat-trick before being replaced by Kane and the England star even had time for a goal before the full-time whistle.
Tranmere were never given a look in during the second half and the superior class told on what was still a special night for the League Two side. They will now focus on their promotion hopes while Spurs can look forward to the fourth-round draw.
That is all for tonight folks, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!
